January 22





Ok, so today was a pretty bad day for me - which led to this epic two and a half hour walk into the countryside. Really a revelation of sorts, as I saw the kinds of things I expected to see (like beautiful bridges) and some things I didn't expect to see (like nooses and communist graffiti), and it finished with something I was glad to see (a rainbow).

This was kind of a hectic day but I had a very nice walk in the morning, which cleared my head a great deal. This was a new road to explore, which always makes me happy. But I promise no more pictures of this area!

Inauguration day! The excitement was palpable. This quote puts it best: "The energy on the streets is something I've never seen before," said Nancy Wigal. "People are walking lighter, standing taller and are reaching out to one another. It feels like hope."

Let's kill two birds with one stone... beginning my attempt to get into British tabloids. The only problem is.... I don't know anyone in them! I guess that's part of the challenge....

Feeling pretty down today, so I took a walk. Found a beautiful, quintessentially English road which wound its way up a rather steep hill.

The book that I need to read today. All 731 pages of it. Fuuuuccckkk...

Protest against Israeli military action. The protesters were chanting "Israel is a terrorist state" and had signs with the Star of David next to a swastika.
